Suhyeon Kim

Suhyeon was born in Ansan, South Korea, and her journey in organic chemistry commenced during high school at the Korea Science Academy (KSA) in Busan, South Korea. Driven by a profound passion for chemistry, she pursued a bachelor's degree at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Throughout her undergraduate years, she had the opportunity to expand her knowledge by participating in the REU program with Prof. William D. Jones's research group at the University of Rochester.

Upon graduating in August 2019, Suhyeon embarked on her graduate studies under the guidance of Prof. Chang at KAIST. As a visiting Ph.D. student, she temporarily joined the Glorius group at the University of Münster. Presently, her research interest is centered around the topic of "The Selective Nitrene Transfer for Lactam Synthesis via Control of Mechanistic Pathways by Ligand Modulations."
