Zhimin was born and raised in Henan Province, China. He received his B.S. degree from Qilu Institute of Technology. In 2016, he enrolled at Nanjing Tech University to pursue his master’s degree.
During his graduate studies, he worked on total synthesis in the group of Prof. Haihua Lu. In 2019, he joined Prof. Yahui Wang’s group as a research assistant, where he began exploring organic electrosynthesis.
In 2021, he moved to Nanjing University for his Ph.D. in the group of Prof. Yi Wang, focusing on organic electrosynthesis, and received his doctoral degree in 2025. From October 2023 to October 2024, he was a visiting Ph.D. student in the group of Prof. Lutz Ackermann, where his research centered on ruthenium-catalyzed remote C–H bond activation.
In March 2025, he joined the group of Prof. Sukbok Chang as a postdoctoral researcher. His current research interests focus on transition-metal-catalyzed C–H functionalization.
