Honghua was born and raised in Hubei Province, China. He received his B.Sc. degree from China Three Gorges University (CTGU) in 2018. He then joined the research group of Prof. Fangrui Zhong at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), where he conducted research training and obtained his M.Sc. degree in 2021.
Subsequently, he pursued his PhD studies in the group of Prof. Martin Oestreich at Technische Universität Berlin, focusing on the development of new reactions based on silylium ion catalysis.
In October 2025, Honghua joined Prof. Sukbok Chang’s group as a postdoctoral researcher, where his current research centers on transition metal-catalyzed asymmetric C-H amination reactions.
