Dr. Hoimin Jung

Hoimin was born in Goyang, South Korea. After discovering his passion for organic chemistry towards the end of high school, Hoimin pursued a bachelor's degree in Chemistry at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). During his undergraduate period, he worked with Prof. Mu-Hyun Baik (KAIST/IBS) to learn applied computational chemistry for reaction mechanism study. During his undergraduate period, he visited Prof. Tehshik Yoon's research group (UW Madison) as a visiting researcher. Later, Hoimin joined to SBC group as a graduate student. Now, He is a postdoctoral researcher at IBS-CCHF.

His interest is focused on developing C–H amination reactions and characterization of key catalytic intermediates. Also, Hoimin has an interest in building statistical models to explain reaction outcomes using data science tools.
